Course Description

America in the Great War | Explore the role of the United States in World War I through weekly lectures, readings, documentary film viewings and guided discussions. Learn about the cultural characteristics and perspectives before, during and after World War I, strategy and preparation for overseas combat, and research of the U.S. collaboration with the Allies to achieve victory.

Learner Outcomes

Describe characteristics of America before the Great War occurred; investigate key events and cultural perspectives that led to America entering the war; analyze the ways the United States prepared for overseas combat in the Great War; research the US collaboration with the Allies to achieve victory; review significant political, economic, and social impacts of World War I on the United States.
