Course Description

Festive Shakespeare: As You Like It | Table read and discuss William Shakespeares festive comedy, As You Like, a delightful, ingenious, happy comedy set in the pastoral Forest of Arden. Discover one of Shakespeares most beguiling heroines, Rosalind, in one of his most accomplished comedies. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Explore the character of one of Shakespeares most beguiling heroines, Rosalind; Discuss Jaquess famous Seven Ages of Man speech and romantic assumptions about human happiness; Evaluate personal opinions and frame responses within life experiences; Discover the restorative and regenerative impact of the Arden Forest; Recognize the inhabitants pursuits and the effect on their individual lives.
