Course Description

Intermediate SMAW (Stick) Welding Certified Training | Prepare material and perform fillet and groove welds in carbon steel using E7018 electrodes in all positions. Geared toward structural welding code vertical and overhead tests. Passing the certification tests provides an all-position limited thickness AWS D1.1 welder certification. CEUs and Earlbeck Certificate of Completion issued. $3,285 includes $2,638 fee. Prerequisite: CIT-351: Fundamentals of Welding or permission of instructor. Note: Must be 18 or older to enroll. Bring welding gear issued at first class. Denim jeans, long-sleeve cotton shirt and hard-toe boots must be worn in class.

Learner Outcomes

Perform safety inspections of STICK welding equipment and accessories; Demonstrate how to align welding machines to proper polarities and amperage settings; Demonstrate fillet and groove welds in all positions on carbon steel material; Perform AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code-Steel welder certification test coupons in up to 3G/4G position on 3/8" plate.
