Course Description
Intermediate GMAW (MIG) Welding Certified Training | Prepare material and perform fillet and groove welds in carbon steel in all positions. Practice geared toward structural welding code vertical and overhead tests. Passing the certification tests provides a GMAW AWS D9.1 overhead sheet metal certification, as well as a FCAW AWS D1.1 certification in up to a 3G/4G positions on 3/8” plate. CEUs and Earlbeck Certificate of Completion issued. $3,285 includes $2,638 fee. Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Welding (CIT-351) or permission of instructor. Note: Must be 18 or older to enroll. Bring welding gear issued at first class. Denim jeans, long-sleeve cotton shirt and hard-toe boots must be worn in class.Learner Outcomes
Perform safe set up on MIG welding equipment; Demonstrate fillet and groove welds in all positions on carbon steel utilizing the GMAW (MIG) welding process; Discuss structural welding code for vertical and overhead tests; Perform tests for GMAW AWS D9.1 overhead sheet metal certification, as well as a FCAW AWS D1.1 certification in up to 3G/4G positions on 3/8” plate.Notices
