Course Description

An Introduction to Keyboarding for Senior Adults | This beginner-level keyboarding course is designed specifically for senior adults looking to develop or improve practical typing skills. Students will learn to comfortably use the keyboard, improve speed and accuracy, and gain confidence in digital communication. The class promotes a relaxed, supportive atmosphere with guided practice and engaging activities tailored to various learning styles. Note: Senior Cycle class. Students must be 55 or older by start date to enroll.

Learner Outcomes

Name and use all major keys on a standard keyboard; Complete classroom exercises to achieve a typing speed of at least 15 words per minute with 75% accuracy; Identify keys to type complete sentences using guided repetition and games; Practice typing everyday content like emails, letters, and search queries.
