Course Description
Course description: Deepen your understanding of Conversational Sign Language through structured voice‑off communication. Develop practical skills in an all voice‑off environment that enhances both expressive and receptive abilities. Each session, a new theme will be chosen by the students for class discussion. Expand vocabulary and strengthen visual communication skills while participating in fully voice‑off class dialogue. $183 includes $10 fee. Prerequisite: CSL 305 or instructor permission.Learner Outcomes
Demonstrate accurate production and comprehension of ten or more advanced ASL signs used in everyday conversation in a voice‑off environment; Incorporate 50 new vocabulary phrases by engaging in themed conversational activities and expressing visual concepts through sign‑to‑sign communication; Exhibit intermediate to advanced proficiency in fingerspelling, handshapes, and vocabulary by delivering a short, voice‑off presentation to peers; Discuss one major milestone in American Sign Language history and explain its impact on contemporary Deaf culture during a class dialogue.Loading...
