Mood and Food: Strategies for Health in a Processed Food World | Understand healthy eating. Navigate todays processed food environment and recognize emotional and stress related eating patterns. Focus on mindfulness, self-regulation and practical strategies for weight management, physical activity and sleep to support lasting health. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 or older by start date. Instructor is a licensed clinical professional counselor.Learner Outcomes
Identify and evaluate components of a healthy diet and list two personal environmental influences that shape eating behaviors; Differentiate types of carbohydrates, emotional cravings, and stress‑related eating patterns, and analyze how at least three identified stressors impact individual food choices; Apply mindfulness and self‑regulation techniques, using at least three strategies to support personal health or weight goals, as shown through goal tracking and reflection; Create and evaluate a realistic, personalized plan for physical activity and sleep based on healthy lifestyle guidelines.Loading...
