Course Description

Functional Conditioning 1 | Learn safe, effective strength and muscular endurance training techniques as well as the muscle groups these techniques benefit. Improve flexibility and mobility using low-impact aerobics. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 or older by start date to enroll.

Learner Outcomes

Demonstrate how to condition the body and prevent injury; Identify muscle groups utilized in functional conditioning; Discuss how functional conditioning will enhance the overall quality of life and wellness; Discuss conditioning programs that encompass a range of methods and applications; Demonstrate techniques for self-assessment.

Online | Strength and Stretch | No class Nov. 27 | This class is an exercise program designed for strength, flexibility, and balance. Students perform exercises without any additional equipment or use light hand-held weights and resistance bands. This class is designed to encourage a healthy routine to strengthen and stretch the individual student to be able to perform functional or everyday activities. | Note: Attendance in online class sessions Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 8-9 a.m. is mandatory for section 901.
