Course Description

Functional Mobility and Balance 1 | Learn to improve and maintain coordination and balance. Study fall prevention and movement and balance concepts and practices. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 or older by start date to enroll.

Learner Outcomes

Define the concepts of balance and coordination; Explain the value of balance, strength, and coordination for healthy aging; Describe the importance of preventing falls in the maintenance of independent and healthy living; Demonstrate techniques and strategies for improving coordination and balance.

Students will learn how to stop an attacker in his tracks by acting early and learn how and where to strike to escape quickly.
