Course Description

The Deciders and Their Decisions | Examine the history of the U.S. Supreme Court and justices, including significant opinions and dissents that foreshadowed many changes. Discuss which justices have had the most impact on federal law and interpretation of the Constitution. $23 includes $22 fee. Note: Requires membership in Peer Learning Partnership (PLP). Biannual membership is $30.

Learner Outcomes

Evaluate selected opinions of the Supreme Court and the justices who served on it at the time; Contrast significant dissenting opinions and the justices who wrote them; Appraise the justices who have had the most impact on federal law and interpretations of the U.S. Constitution; Dialogue with other class participants to gain understanding and share perspectives on important issues covered in class materials.
