Course Description

Mastering Cooking Basics at Home | Watch a Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism chef demonstrate recipes and identify specific equipment and the role it plays in daily operations. Prepare a simple meal using proper equipment. Recipe packet includes detailed instructions, recipes and grocery list. Ask the chef questions and post successes in the online classroom. $32+ includes $10 fee. Note: Students receive detailed instructions, recipes and grocery list.

Learner Outcomes

Identify different types of kitchen equipment you can use in your daily meal; Recognize the importance of mise en place, getting ingredients together; Demonstrate the safe usage of kitchen hand tools and utensils; Demonstrate proper kitchen safety and sanitation procedures; Apply proper technique for preparing and cooking the recipes; Demonstrate proper understanding of appropriate cooking methods.
