Course Description

Pre-Apprenticeship Low Voltage Telecom Training Part A |Prepare for entry-level work in the telecom field, leading to a registered telecommunications technician apprenticeship program. Learn low-voltage applications from an industry professional. Obtain OSHA-10 General Construction and CPR/First Aid certifications while preparing for entry into a fully online (synchronous), registered telecommunications technician apprenticeship program. Job placement assistance is available upon successful completion of the program. CEUs issued. $2,178 includes $1,078 fee. Corequisites: CIT-310 Pre-Apprenticeship Low Voltage Telecom Training Part B, and NRN-332 Heartsaver CPR/First Aid Note: Cost includes instruction, textbook and supplies. There are additional costs for NRN-332, HeartSaver CPR/First Aid.

Learner Outcomes

State the purpose of the electronic systems industry and describe the role of an electronic systems technician; Identify the appropriate drill bits and bore openings in lumber and masonry application; Articulate the standard industrial safety procedures as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); Identify the tools to perform installations in concrete and steel structures; Explain the usage of common personal protective equipment with in the trade.
