Course Description

Consumer and Personal Finance | Compare theories as they apply to consumer decision making. Apply theories to make practical choices regarding consumer saving, investing and budgeting. Discuss the use of credit, insurance, housing, career choice, retirement and estate planning. $382 includes $10 fee. Note: All sections also offered for credit, BPA-113 or ECO 113.

Learner Outcomes

Describe the relationship between the economy and personal finance issues; Develop general guidelines for sensible planned spending, saving and investing to meet short and long-term goals; Discuss alternative financial plans to meet personal goals; Organize a personal financial plan that incorporates options such as investment, insurance, use of credit, retirement and estate planning; Demonstrate an understanding of basic economic concepts as they relate to personal finance.
