Course Description

Lithographic Printmaking | Learn the fundamentals of lithography. Explore the basic techniques (plate preparation, etches and counter etches), materials (crayon, tusche and new media) and print methods (working the press, ink and paper) to create fine art lithographs. CEUs issued. $432 includes $60 fee. Note: Also offered as ART 247.

Learner Outcomes

Utilize traditional and non-traditional techniques to create imagery on aluminum plates that can be transferred through chemistry and artistry onto paper; Design, draw, paint, and transfer imagery onto plates; Develop and demonstrate skills with the lithography press by printing text or artwork onto paper or other suitable material; Develop and design a themed exchange portfolio that pertains to social change.
