Course Description

What does it mean to ‘know’ a word?  Explore the answer to this question, looking at vocabulary in the context of reading, writing, speaking and listening lessons. Examine techniques and activities that can help teach ESL vocabulary. Investigate ways to evaluate the level of a student’s productive and receptive vocabulary. $160 includes $10 fee. Note: Students should be enrolled in or have completed ESL-380: Introduction to Teaching ESL prior to registering for ESL-382: Teaching ESL/EFL Vocabulary. ENG-101 eligibility is strongly recommended.
