Course Description

Preparation for Maryland Stationary Engineer Certification 2 | Experienced operators learn more about high-pressure boiler systems, and plant equipment and operations. Explore steam boiler operations, accessories, and combustion and computer-assisted combustion controls. Learn water chemistry and treatment; basic electrical, refrigeration and HVAC systems; fire prevention and safety, and exam qualifications. Textbook information available at AACC Bookstore. CEUs issued. $425 includes $30 fee. Note: Prepares students for the Maryland Stationary Engineers certification examination (grades 1-3) and the NIULPE certification examination (grades 1-4).

Discuss all aspects of steam boiler operations and accessories; Explain combustion and computer-assisted combustion controls; Describe boiler water chemistry and treatment; Discuss basic electrical, refrigeration and HVAC systems; Cite fire prevention and safety measures.
