Course Description

Diesel Technician Part 2 | Read and interpret diagnostic test results to identify mechanical problems in all areas of the vehicle. Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment in all areas of the vehicle. Perform basic care and maintenance on diesel engines and vehicles in all areas. Apply an understanding of basic electricity fundamentals, electronics, and computers to engine and vehicle repair and maintenance. CEUs issued. $1,530 includes $161 fee, textbook and exam. Corequisite: OCA-591 Diesel Technician Part I Note: Students completing parts 1 and 2 will be eligible to sit for the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Entry Level Diesel Engine exam.

Learner Outcomes

Assess the components and operations of steering and suspension systems; Demonstrate and define the components, maintenance and repair of heavy-truck brake systems; Determine the components of heavy-truck HVAC systems; Explain the fundamentals of drive train systems; Describe the basic components and maintenance of heavy-truck axles.
