Course Description
Patient Care Technician: Theory | Explore role of the Patient Care Technician as an advanced care provider and member of the health care team within an acute care setting. Examine concepts, principles and skills used in collecting data and providing care for those individuals who are hospitalized. CEUs issued. $430 includes $30 fee. Note: Class will be held via Zoom and online in Canvas. To register for this course you must speak to the course coordinator. Discuss role and scope of practice of the advanced patient technician in the acute care setting; Explain the principles of body mechanics and apply them to daily activities; Discuss observations and monitoring that is essential for the client with a GI or endocrine disorder or dysfunction; Identify common symptoms and conditions associated with the an alteration in mental health; Discuss terms related to infection prevention.Prerequisites
