Course Description
Patient Care Technician: Lab | Develop the advanced patient care skills needed to work as a Patient Care Technician in a hospital. Initiate IVs, insertion of Foley catheter/straight catheterization, performing 12-lead Electrocardiography (ECG/EKG), dressing changes and phlebotomy skills. CEUs issued. $1,187 includes $210 fee. Note: Student must be 18 years old. Additional student cost for white scrub top and royal blue scrub pants.Learner Outcomes
Demonstrate the care, monitoring, reporting, and documentation for a client with a catheter; Take a 12-lead Electrocardiography (ECG/EKG); Discuss and demonstrates IV care, monitoring, reporting, and documentation for a client with an IV site and infusion; Practice phlebotomy skills; Prepare a sterile field and adding sterile items to a sterile field.Prerequisites
