Course Description

Intermediate MIG Stainless Welding | Explore Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), specifically for welding stainless steel. Examine safety inspections, organizing equipment and materials for various welding processes, fillet and groove welds, and performing vertical (3G) and overhead (4G) welds on 3/8-inch plate for certification. Note: Designed for professionals in the welding field. $1717 includes $1493 fee. Must have previously taken OCC-345: Welding for Work: MIG or CIT-335: Welding for Work: MIG or OPT-396: Intermediate MIG Welding Certified Training or CIT-327: Intermediate MIG Welding Certified Training. Note: Sections of this course will follow Earlbecks closure schedule, not AACCs. Learner Outcomes

Conduct safety inspections of welding equipment and accessories; Organize welding equipment and materials for various welding processes; Demonstrate fillet welds in all positions on stainless steel plate; Illustrate groove welds in all positions on stainless steel plate; Perform vertical (3G) and overhead (4G) weld positions for welder certification test.

Notices

Self-registration for Earlbeck welding courses ends one month prior to their start date. Dependent upon facility capacity, registration after that date may be arranged with the Apprenticeship and Applied Learning Department at ccit@aacc.edu or 410-777- 2970.

Prerequisites

Registration for OPA-368 requires successful completion of OPT-396: Intermediate MIG Welding Certified Training, CIT-327: Intermediate MIG Welding Certified Training, OCC-345: Welding for Work: - MIG, CIT-335: Welding for Work: - MIG or permission of instructor.
