Dental Assisting and Radiology: Lecture | Learn the basic skills necessary to become an entry-level dental assistant. Define dental anatomy, terminology, instruments and infection control procedures. Prepare for the Dental Assisting National Board's Radiation Health and Safety exam. CEUs issued. $995 includes $594 fee. Corequisite: OPA-371 Dental Assist & Rad-Lab and OPA-354 Workforce Success Skills. Prerequisite: High school diploma or GED. Note: Students must attend OPA-354 Workforce Success Skills and pass a reading assessment.Learner Outcomes
Discuss and apply head and neck anatomy, and landmarks of the face and oral cavity; Identify, use and maintain dental instruments, treatment room equipment and accessories for various dental procedures; Describe the importance of infection control and the procedures used to ensure a clean dental office; Identify the foundations of dental radiology; Prepare student for the Dental Assisting National Board Radiology Health and Safety exam.Applies Towards the Following Certificates
