Course Description

Art History | Explore the history of art throughout the world. Gain an overview of specific historical periods and focus on artistic styles, cultural, political and religious differences. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Develop an informed opinion and appreciation of various historical periods of art; Recognize the artistic contribution of selected artists; Discuss how the events of a time period influenced specific art movements; Develop an understanding of political, cultural and religious differences that influence the art world.
