Course Description

Module 1 Family Child Care Pre-service Training: Child Development | Discover the theories and research regarding child development. Examine brain development during gestation and the importance of play in a developmentally appropriate environment. CEUs issued. $70 includes $10 fee. Note: Online course. Fulfills the MSDE/OCC training requirements for family providers.

Learner Outcomes

Discuss major milestones, typical behaviors and general learning processes for children from birth to 13 years of age; Discuss the importance of quality early childhood education from a family child care perspective on young children's growth and development; Identify the theories/theorists who have shaped the understanding and research in the early childhood field; Apply various strategies to support different learning styles.
