Course Description

Adapted Physical Education 2 | Learn how resistance and weight training can improve mobility, balance and daily living activities through skills and concepts utilized in chair exercise classes. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Evaluate current research related to aging and adapted physical activity; Demonstrate adapted techniques and strategies for improving coordination and balance; Outline and demonstrate how adapted physical activity will increase metabolism, flexibility and reduce age related loss of muscular strength; Discuss and demonstrate techniques for self-assessment.
