Course Description

The Second American Revolution | Explore the monumental changes in the relationship among the federal government, the states and individual citizens brought about through the incorporation of the Bill of Rights into the 14th Amendment. $33 includes $32 fee.

Learner Outcomes

Review the background leading to the adoption of the Bill of Rights in restricting the Federal Government and specifically not the States; Examine the rights incorporated into the Bill of Rights and made applicable to the states through the Fourteenth Amendment; Discuss freedom of speech and freedom of the press, as well as freedom of thought, belief, and association; Discuss the right to privacy, the rights of those accused of crimes, and the rights and protections secured under the Amendment relating to religious liberty; Examine the evolution of U.S. law in specific public policy areas as impacted by Supreme Court decisions.
