Course Description

Intro to Oceanography | Gain practical knowledge of the aquatic environment, especially of the Chesapeake Bay and its relationship with the world oceans. Discover the fundamental physical, biological and ecological principles of the ocean world.

Learner Outcomes

Discuss the importance of ocean origin models and water sources as they relate to our daily lives; Describe ocean preservation goals and the importance of ocean stewardship; Explain the physical components of the ocean including coastal and basin geomorphology; Demonstrate knowledge of the biosphere’s interaction with ocean food webs and human activity.
