Course Description

Master Class: Armatures and Floral Structures | Examine advanced armatures and European style floral structures. Identify various construction mechanics, the botanical elements suitable for a floral structure, and determine the best options for a water source. Construct an armature suitable for floral competitions, exhibitions and certification testing. $345+ includes a $20 fee. Note: Students will receive a list of materials to bring to each class.

Learner Outcomes

Identify three construction mechanics to ensure stability of the armature; Evaluate botanical elements suitable for the armature and determine the best water source for those flowers and foliage; Demonstrate two techniques to secure the water source and the botanical materials to the armature and explain their placement; Describe editing of botanical materials and circumstances in which the technique is appropriate; Construct an armature and evaluate the arrangement using an industry standard scoring sheet.
