History of Western Art 1 An introduction to the development of architecture, painting and sculpture in the Western world from prehistoric times through the Middle Ages. Class discussions are supplemented by trips to museums in the Baltimore-Washington area. No previous art courses are necessary. $382 includes $10 fee.Learner Outcomes
Review the works of the artists and describe their principles in the painting, architecture, sculpture of the fifteenth century; Describe 19th Century periods of Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism, and post-Impressionism artistic principles; Describe 20th Century periods and principles of Expressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, and Dadaism in painting and sculpture; Review the International style in architecture; Explain the changes in painting, sculpture and architecture since world War II.Loading...
