Course Description

Examines the concepts, history, and methods of drawing landscape while working at a variety of on-site locations. An emphasis on personal expression is pursued while solving fundamental artistic problems. Special studies include water, weather, rocks and motion. CEUs issued. $392 includes $20 fee. Prerequisite: ART 125 or permission of department chair. Note: All sections also offered for credit as ART-280.

Learner Outcomes

Use aerial perspective in drawing; show gesture in landscape; demonstrate the use of special landscape form studies; use wet and dry media; critically evaluate the expressive content of landscape drawing; articulate an historical overview of landscape painting; demonstrate an awareness of the basics of landscape painting.
