Course Description

Examine new strategies to assist clients in expanding their perspectives and designing actions to move the client forward. Deepen and build on the foundational learning from Course I: Engage including essential coaching skills, International Coach Federations (ICF) core competencies, and ethical coaching guidelines. Apply the components of the coaching agreement to design meaningful relationships with coaching clients. Prerequisite: EDU 201 or TAD-331 with a grade of C or better or permission of department chair. Note: For participants interested in becoming a certified coach, this course fulfills the second course requirement of the 60-hour coach-specific training requirement for the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) ACSTH pathway. To become a certified coach, the participant must also complete TAD-331/TAD-437/EDU-201: Engagement Coaching 1: Engage, TAD-333/TAD-439/EDU-203: Engagement Coaching 3: Experience and TAD-334/TAD-440/EDU-204: Engagement Coaching 4: Integration or TAD-336/TAD-441/EDU-205: Engagement Coaching Course V: Impact and then fulfill the additional requirements stated by the International Coach Federation. $382 includes $10 fee.

Explore overcoming obstacles in the coaching relationship; Apply strength-based coaching strategies to build on clients' strengths; Describe and discuss various components of a coaching agreement including definitions, responsibilities and logistics; Apply using coaching tools such as visualizations, sage identification and feedback; Use goal-setting, planning, accountability strategies and client's responsibilites.
