Course Description

An Introduction to Computers: Windows 10 and 11 | Examine the basic features and functions of a Windows computer. Explore essential computer hardware and software, settings and computer safety, and practice beginning skills needed to navigate the world of computers. Review uses for day-to-day functions such as banking and email communication. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Experiment with the mouse and taskbar menu and explain how to use them; Set up a secure password and list four steps to ensure your safety while using Explorer, Google, and other browsers; Explore basic system properties and show three ways to customize them; Practice using email, calculator, clock, on-screen help, and printer functions; Create folders and list two best practices to save and arrange folders.
