Course Description

Radiation Health and Safety Exam Review Course| Review skills learned in the Dental Assisting and Radiology program to prepare for the Dental Assisting National Boards Radiation and Health Safety exam. Focus on content terminology and proper radiology techniques to provide quality radiographs. CEUs issued. $100 includes $20 fee. Prerequisites: Successful completion of the following courses in the dental assisting program include OPA-370 Dental Assisting and Radiology Lecture, OPA-371 Dental Assisting and Radiology Lab, and OPA-354 Workforce Success Skills with an 80% or better.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: Review the basic biology, physics, basic processing and acquiring techniques, equipment, and film characteristics in dental radiology; Apply the basic responsibilities of a dental radiographer by adhering to safety control protocols; Demonstrate the correct techniques to acquire various types of dental radiographs; Evaluate and interpret various dental anomalies and anatomy; Critique radiographs for quality.
