Course Description

Radiation Health and Safety Exam Review Course| Review skills learned in the Dental Assisting and Radiology program to prepare for the Dental Assisting National Boards Radiation and Health Safety exam. Focus on content terminology and proper radiology techniques to provide quality radiographs. Textbook information available at AACC Bookstore. CEUs issued. $180 includes $30 fee. Note: English as a second Language students must earn a composite score of 310 or better on the Level of English Proficiency exam, or successfully complete Capstone Level ESL coursework. Note: Additional cost for teal scrubs and shoes.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: Review the basic biology, physics, basic processing and acquiring techniques, equipment, and film characteristics in dental radiology; Apply the basic responsibilities of a dental radiographer by adhering to safety control protocols; Demonstrate the correct techniques to acquire various types of dental radiographs; Evaluate and interpret various dental anomalies and anatomy; Critique radiographs for quality.
