Course Description
Learn about public art and site-specific installations. Develop proposals to create models and interactive sculptural installations. Concentrate on fiber arts, mixed media including wood metal, clay and found objects. CEUs offered. $447 includes $75 fee. Note: Students who have experience in video, sound and photography are invited to incorporate this expertise with site-specific projects. All sections also offered for credit, ART-292.Learner Outcomes
Identify and develop installation art in public places, concepts of installation art in ancient cultures and contemporary art installations; Discuss schematic, model development, site plan, budget development, overall logistics on installing public art; Describe an artistic approach to the operation and use of equipment and tools equipment and tools safety practices limitations and possibilities of different materials; Describe an artistic approach to structural and aesthetic properties of material typically for installations; Discuss and study fiber arts techniques (additive and subtractive) traditional materials: stone, metal, concrete, mixed media; and proper techniques, environmental/land art.Loading...
