Course Description

Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical Training Part B | Gain industry knowledge and obtain OSHA 30 General Construction and CPR/First Aid certifications while preparing for entry into a registered apprenticeship. Job placement assistance available. CEUs issued. $1,230, includes $230 fee. Corequisites: CIT-314 Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical Training Part A and NRN-332 Heartsaver CPR/First Aid.  Note: Must be 18 or older to enroll. Cost includes instruction, textbook and supplies. There is an additional cost for NRN-332, HeartSaver CPR/First Aid.

Learner Outcomes

Demonstrate the following job competencies: bending conduit, equipment selection, tool usage, threading, cutting, and reaming; Interpret schematic diagrams including identification of units of electrical measurement, related calculations, and identification of the basic components of power distributions systems; Select and install conductors based on wire size, insulation, and application; Select appropriate test equipment including voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, and multimeters with reference to equipment safety hazards; Apply safety regulations, standards, and personal protective equipment to the laboratory environment.
