Course Description

Commercial Drivers License CDL B | Prepare for the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Commercial Drivers License Class B examination and road test. Learn about air brakes, vehicle inspection, handling hazardous materials and skill development through classroom and range training. CEUs issued. $2,851 includes $2,460 fee. NOTE: Students must meet with program manager prior to registration. Call 410-777-2935 to make an appointment.

Learner Outcomes

Explain how air brakes work and demonstrate the ability to use air brakes safely and effectively; Demonstrate the ability to conduct pre-trip, enroute and post-trip inspections; Discuss the National Safety Council guidelines for transporting hazardous materials, for recognizing and reporting malfunctions and for accident scene conduct and reporting; Demonstrate the ability to drive a Class B vehicle, to maintain the vehicle and to change tires; Demonstrate the ability to drive a Class B vehicle under unusual and/or hazardous conditions.
