Course Description

Forgotten Figures in US History | Examine forgotten and underappreciated figures of U.S. history from the 10th century to the present. The course will span 1,000 years, starting with the first Viking to arrive in North America. Note: Senior Cycle fee class. Students must be 55 years or older by start date in order to enroll in this class.

Learner Outcomes

Identify the contributions of politicians, military leaders, businessmen and women, inventors, and explorers to the development of the US; Analyze the lives of the individuals to understand their contributions; Discuss the life and times of these figures; Discuss the key conflicts surrounding these individuals and how they resolved them.
