Course Description

Acquire hands-on experience applying what you have learned. Observe an experienced teacher in a natural classroom setting. Write an observation journal. Plan, receive feedback on and implement your own lesson plan. Complete a narrative self-reflection article on your teaching experience. Prerequisite: students must complete with a passing grade: ESL-380: Introduction to Teaching ESL; ESL-382: Teaching ESL/EFL Vocabulary; ESL-383: Teaching ESL/EFL Grammar; ESL-384: Teaching ESL/EFL Reading prior to registering for this course.  ENG-101 eligibility is strongly recommended. Learner Outcomes

Demonstrate fundamental reflective observation techniques; Plan and conduct teaching lessons using communicative methods and techniques; Demonstrate essential classroom management techniques; Practice authentic assessment techniques in class; Use assessment activities to determine students' English proficiency levels.
