Course Description

Examine the Engagement Coaching Model and its application to teaching and learning. Explore the essential coaching skills, International Coach Federations (ICF) core competencies, ethical guidelines, and variety of tools and activities that provide access points for coaching and personal and professional development. Note: For participants interested in becoming a certified coach, this course fulfills the first course requirement of the 60-hour coach-specific training requirement for the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) ACSTH pathway. To become a certified coach, the participant must complete TAD-332: Engagement Coaching 2: Expand, TAD-333: Engagement Coaching 3: Experience and TAD-334: Engagement Coaching 4: Integration or TAD-336: Engagement Coaching Course V: Impact and then fulfill the additional requirements stated by the International Coach Federation.

Learner Outcomes

Distinguish between different practice areas and identify essential elements of a coaching agreement; Identify key factors in a designed relationship, which include but not limited to, trust and respect; Explore ethical guidelines and professional standards that apply to coaching; Apply coaching tools such as value mining and life and career bridges; Demonstrate the use of planning, goal-setting, accountability and client responsibilities.
