Course Description

Electrical 3 Training: Part B  | Examine common electrical industrial applications, methods and requirements for wiring systems. Explore motors and controls, hazardous locations, special applications, and Solar (PV) Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Systems. Practice connecting variable speed drives to power. Note: Offered in partnership with Chesapeake Energy Solutions LLC T/a Chesapeake Electric.

Learner Outcomes

Identify and label connection terminals on various relays and contactors; Recognize the correct symbols and operation for motor control devices; Illustrate including line numbering, numerical cross-referencing, and wire numbering; Recognize the purpose and function of motor starters; Identify circuit components from the work description; Review the National Electrical Code (NEC) Requirements for hazardous locations; Practice connecting variable speed drives to power.
